Scholarship Awards
Bernard and Kathy Lane Music Student Award
Congratulations to award winners Clare, Abigail and Nick who will attend workshops and competitions this summer with a little help from IMT!
Bernard Lane and his wife Kathy were instrumental in establishing the Irish Music Traditions branch in Atlanta, and have been a vital part of the traditional Irish music scene for many years.
In honor and recognition of those accomplishments, we have established an Award in their honor for young musicians who aspire to play Irish music. Its purpose is to advance Irish culture in Atlanta by fostering the development of local players of traditional Irish music.
The award will range from $250-$500, and seeks to recognize annually aspiring IMT musicians in one or both of the following categories:
- Those whose more advanced talents and skills have been recognized by high placement in organized competitions;
- Those whose hard work and dedication show promise of future development and who can profit from participation in intensive workshop-type learning.
